Community Connections

A healthy and sustainable rural community is founded on healthy lands and waters and upon engaged, interconnected, and mutually supportive social groups. The Metchosin Foundation engages with local levels of government, including both the District of Metchosin and SC’IA/NEW First Nation, and with local and regional agencies, institutions, and individuals with intersecting aims and interests. Our projects and programs generally involve collaboration with other groups and organizations, and they are supported by a community of generous donors and volunteers. Just as Metchosin’s forests are kept vibrant through mycelial and mycorrhizal connection, so too is our agency and the communities we serve kept vibrant through nurturing and sustaining connection.
